Corgis are the life of every party, whether it’s a backyard barbecue or an impromptu zoom call. Their energy is infectious, and their antics can brighten even the dullest Monday morning. Don’t be surprised if your corgi decides to herd you around the house with playful nudges and gentle nibbles on your heels, they’re just reminding you who’s really in charge.  I couldn’t take Gatsby anywhere without someone stopping us for a quick photo op or a few good pets!

Every bark, every wiggle, every determined leap speaks of a dog that’s not only fun-loving but also impressively clever.  I talked to Gatsby as if he was a human and he became such a smart dog because of this!  My closest confidant and best friend!  I truly believe he understands everything I say to him.  Unless he’s having a selective hearing moment like a typical Corgi!

Short Legs, Long List of Talents: Their compact build is perfect for zooming around, despite what their stubby legs might suggest.  But don’t let their short, little legs fool you!  Gatsby can hike for miles and chase you around like no other!  And don’t forget to watch your food!  They may be short, but these clever little devils will do just about anything for a slice of your pizza!

Voice of the People: Corgis have a knack for speaking their minds, expect a series of cheerful barks and cheeky yips as they claim their space.  Gatsby was a bit of a rarity, however, as he does not bark much.  Don’t get me wrong, he will let you know when someone is at the door or when he gets excited about a treat!  But he was not like most Corgis that just like to bark at the wind.  Thank god for that!

The Great Escapologists: Whether it’s squeezing through the tiniest fence or finding the coziest nook, these little adventurers always seem to find a way out or in!  When Gatsby was a puppy, he managed to escape through the gate in the backyard!  After a frantic walk around the neighborhood, I was relieved when he answered my calls and came bounding around the corner!  Always keep your eyes on your clever little corgi!
